This is going to be one hell of a summer for FIU Student Media and Nameless CMS.
Here are a couple things that are in the pipeline for the summer:
- Ruby library for creating and working with Adobe InCopy files (.incx)
- Rails plugin for handling secret keys (like API keys) when working on an open source Rails project
- Overhaul of the Nameless admin panel with the workflow features finally merged in
- An alpha release of Nameless for people to play with
I’m going to try to keep screenshots of our work flowing through. Make sure to follow our Github to see some of the latest work that’s going on as it happens.
As of now, I am the only developer on the project so if you’re a Rails geek and would like to get involved, just send me a message on Github. Free points (and possibly pay!) if you go to FIU.
Cool to hear, Rick! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Quick question: do you have any mockups or abstracts for the workflow features? I’d like to put together a spec for a better WordPress admin, and it would great to be able to see the thought you’ve already put into it.
I don’t have any mockups yet, but I am working on them soon. Right now we’re working on all the mockups for the section pages with our editors so we can squeeze out as much creative work out of them before we start our summer online publishing cycle. But as soon as we do, I will let you know.
